Alexander Goodier died from wounds on 23rd May, 1915 but as yet there is no information as to where and on what date he was wounded. The 4th Rifle Brigade battalion was part of 80 Brigade,  27th Division that, after being heavily engaged in the action associated with the Battle of Frezenberg Ridge earlier in the month,  had been relieved from the trenches on 14th May and had moved back to bivouacs at Bussaboum.
